Our team loves to worship. For most of us, we are worship pastors on staff at our local churches. We believe music has a power like almost nothing else to allow space for God to speak to us, and for us to be still and gain a posture of total adoration and gratitude for who He is.
Yet, there's also so much more to worship. It's our entire life, every day, every breath. We strive to find ways to use music to inspire all of us to serve and love the cities and communities where God has placed us.
As worship leaders, we can use our role to really push this idea forward. For instance, today Joel (Worship Pastor at The Avenue Church) met with city leaders just south of Dallas (Waxahachie) to continue to deepen relationships in order to help meet the needs of the underprivileged in the area.
He also hosted a group from Dallas Baptist University at The Avenue to talk about how to worship through missions and justice. They were able to see first hand the work done through the local church, and how to organize and send out the body to impact the city.
Hopefully the featured song this week, We Will Go, inspires you as you reflect on this summer's mission trips and service projects. We also hope you take that experience and really think and pray everyday about what you can do right where you are.
